bright vibration
Bright Vibration is a large floor installation that recreates a mapping of ocean salinity. The use of sea salt invites reflection on the symbolic dimension of this natural element, which throughout time has retained meanings and associations such as life and death, preservation and purification, and has long been the subject of superstitions and a symbol of hospitality. The interest in using a material so richly symbolic as salt is suggested by its very etymology, which contains the roots of both “vibration” and “light wave,” thus emphasizing its power to create and preserve life—or, conversely, to destroy it.
In Bright Vibration, the emotional geography that emerges is shifting and elusive. The continents take form by subtraction, evoking the fragile relationship between land and sea, between presence and absence. Salt, unstable yet vital, renders visible the ceaseless motion of the elements, suggesting a dialogue between what is fleeting and what endures. The work presents itself as a becoming snapshot—a poetic reflection on the transformation of the world.
