f.a.l.c. – series

f.a.l.c. is the acronym for Ferant Alpes Laetitiam Cordibus, meaning: may the Alps bring joy to the hearts. This message welcomes hikers reaching a mountain hut in the Alps near Bergamo.
f.a.l.c. is also the title of a series of site-specific installations I began in 2009. By tearing and layering sheets of paper, I recreated scaled versions of actual Alpine landscapes. The result is an evanescent scenery, connected to the real landscape only through the information provided in the caption.
The shapes fully emerge and reveal themselves only under particular lighting conditions.
