microscope slides
Microscope slides is a series of four digital prints on aluminum. While each photograph maintains its own formal autonomy, they also serve as documentation of four sculptures created through the gradual accumulation of dust on glass shelves originally used to display a collection of small objects.
The sculptures are ephemeral — brief apparitions revealing the presence of mysterious, almost organic forms.
I chose to call this series Microscope slides not only because the glass shelves resemble microscope slides used in laboratory analysis, but also because the act of observation is fleeting, limited to the brief “biological cycle” of the sculpture itself.
