syntax – other syntax

The white wall becomes a writing board on which the artist has rewritten a text by Carlos Castaneda using a “mathematical alphabet.” At first glance, the content appears unintelligible, as if the viewer were implicitly invited to make an effort to break through habitual syntactic and mental frameworks. The act of rewriting—like that of “reading”—thus becomes a form of action, a kind of ritual behavior that does not find fulfillment in the act itself but, through mathematics, seeks to develop a poetic form of knowledge.
“Syntax / Other Syntax” can be described as a “linguistic map” in which code becomes landscape: the shift from one syntax to another becomes a form of crossing, reflecting the movement between order and chaos, between meaning and its absence. The work takes shape as a relational inquiry into the limits and possibilities of language—into how “syntaxes” emerge or break apart, giving rise to new modes of expression and understanding.
