“Meditation is the art of effortless awareness.”
The installation resembles, in appearance and size, a bed of nails. Originally, Indian ascetics devoted to fakirism used this kind of tool to reach higher levels of awareness through meditation.
In this case, the viewer faces an unsettling and potentially dangerous object. However, the danger is only apparent: beneath it lies extreme fragility. What at first glance seem to be nails are actually drawing leads. These leads are menacingly sharp but harmless—they break at the slightest touch.
The quest finds no end; it is a painful uncertainty, a doomed attempt from the very start.
