Echoing silences
Echoing Silences is a votive sculpture activated by the artist during a live performance. Celtic symbols carved into the surface of twenty-four river stones allow the runes to whisper the breath of time, tracing invisible paths toward skies not yet seen. Each symbol becomes a passage — a threshold between here and elsewhere, between what can be spoken and what remains unsayable.
During the performance, participants are invited to choose one of the twenty-four runes. They are then blindfolded and guided through words and subtle suggestions to draw whatever emerges from the unconscious. This temporary blindness interrupts control, opening a suspended space between waking consciousness and dream, where symbols and archetypes can surface freely. Every gesture becomes ritual; every line a trace of inner energy.
The drawings are later transformed by the artist into runic amulets, reproduced on slate and returned to the participants as talismans. In this way, the body and the surrounding space become a poetic device, capable of activating the invisible within the creative act.
Echoing Silences è un’opera che raccoglie l’eco del silenzio e lo riconsegna a chi sa decifrarlo. Echoing Silences gathers the echo of silence and returns it to those who know how to hear it. Rather than imposing creation, the artist enters a space of listening.
Echoing Silences was first presented at SCONFINA, as part of the project Altri Cieli, during the Milano Art Week 2025.[LEARN MORE >>]
